Music Over Matter is an independent record label operating from Tāmaki Makaurau. We work with artists who have something to say and the craft to say it — releasing music on its own terms, without compromise to format or commercial pressure.
The label is the formal structure behind Shared Breath, a collective of songwriters, producers, and collaborators whose work begins with breath and ends with something that lasts.
The Collective
Shared Breath is the creative collective whose music Music Over Matter releases. The label and the collective are distinct — one is structure, one is breath. Both are necessary.
